The three Albanian teams that helped Turkey find survivors after the devastating earthquake of February 6, are heading back to Albania.
They were accompanied by applause from the Turkish people for the help given during these difficult days.
After 11 days of intensive work, the 85 troops, including members of the Armed Forces, Civil Emergencies and health teams, were accompanied by applause from the authorities and ordinary citizens, who expressed their gratitude for their contribution.
The Albanian consul in Istanbul, Blerta Kadzadej, also present at the send-off ceremony, expressed her gratitude for their work.
Colonel Elton Reso said that during these days of search and rescue, 26 people found trapped under the rubble, including some survivors, were taken out by the Albanian teams.
The Albanian teams, in coordination with the Turkish emergency services, worked mainly in the Malatya area. Albania responded to Turkey’s call for help and within 24 hours the first Albanian rescue team arrived in the earthquake areas giving their help.
