After the adily order was restored, the 4500 Lazarat residents have a
new health center. The Health Ministry has restored the clinic which can
now offer all health services. Minister Beqaj was in Lazarat, where he
promised to improve the basic health service throughout the country.
“After the public order was stabilized, it is our duty to return the normality in Lazarat. The public services should be the first ones for the citizens. Within a few days, through an emergency procedure, we completed the request of the Gjirokaster Public Health Directory to restore the health center. This is only the first step. It will continue throughout the country”, declared the Health Minister, Ilir Beqja.
It was a request of the Public Health Director in Gjirokaster to enable a closer health service to the Lazaratn residents, who had to go to the Regional Hospital of Lazarat even for basic services.
After the successful anti-cannabis action carried out by the State police, the Health Police is the second one undertaking an important initiative for the Lazarat residents, who have lived for years in a “ghetto”.
