Although the Albanian authorities stated a few days ago that there were no Albanian citizens in Afghanistan as military or civilian personnel, a woman from Tirana who works with an international organization is reported to have been trapped there.
The young woman named as Ana is unable to move and Top Channel has learned that a rescue operation is under way in cooperation with the American forces that are still at the Kabul airport to escort her to Albania.
There is currently chaos on the streets of Kabul and at the airport the situation is uncertain due to the influx of those who want to flee. Meanwhile, the Taliban have just taken power and started setting up roadblocks and taking control of institutions. This situation makes the operation to rescue Ana, the only Albanian woman who witnessed how Afghanistan fell back to the Taliban regime, even more difficult.
