“Prosecution, politically attacked”

The head of the Prosecution’s Association, Pelivan Malaj, declared in an
interview for Top Channel that the accusations of Former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta against the
prosecution are not only unfounded, but were made only for influencing the work of the justice institutions. He considered it as an open political
pressure.

“The Prosecution clearly showed its stance by sending the case to the Supreme Court. Mr. Meta’s goal is to affect the trial with this pressure”, Malaj declared.

For Malaj, Mr. Meta is not calm and his accusations are absurd. He advises him to calmly follow the process in the role of the defendant.

“This defendant should stay calm while realizing his legal defense, and wait the trial results”, Malaj declared.

For Malaj, the war against the prosecution is totally political. The accusations for political cellules are very serious, a continuity of the war that the politicians make against the prosecution every time that they are under investigation.

“They mention strong terms, clearly political terms, which they hope will affect the political stances and the prosecution”, Malaj added.

The head of the Prosecution Association declared that the political class continually cuts General Prosecution, and that the Prosecution has always been in financial difficulties, due to the budget that is shrinking each year.
