Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Councilors at the Tirana Municipal Council proposed the
establishment of a commission that reports conflicts of interest, as an
effort in the war against corruption.
The left and right winged Municipal Councilors discussed with each other about the conflict of interests during a meeting of the High Inspectorate of Audit of Assets and the OSCE.
They were asked to come together for the war against corruption, as a very sensitive problem of the Albanian society in many sectors.
“The measures taken by different governments in the war against corruption have not been enriched with a constant legal commitment by the government. Corruption prevails in many sectors. Success could be reached if local and central officials take war against corruption as a personal commitment”, declared the OSCE vice Ambassador, Dan Redford.
War against corruption is a challenge that everyone must face”, declared the HIDAA director, Adriatik Llalla.
The recent OSCE and US State Department reports showed Albania as a corrupted country in many sectors.
