“Kurum” workers protest in Elbasan

The metallurgic workers of “Kurum”, in Elbasan, returned to their
protests on the “Gensher” square. The workers protest for the
interruption of the work, since “Kurum” is unable to find other sources
of electric power rather then CEZ, as the new law requires.

The work interruption has left 700 workers jobless. The Chairman of the Syndicate Union Confederation of Albania, Kole Nikolla, asked the Prime Minister to resolve the problem by sitting to dialogue with the residents. He also attacked the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy, Nasip Naco, by asking him to resign.

The protest has been led by representatives of the syndicates, who declared that they will continue their protest in Tirana, near the Prime Minister’s Office.

The 700 workers protested even on the last Friday, by blocking the roads.
