ACR starts work partially

06/10/2011 00:00

The work at the Bulqize mine started this Thursday morning, but not in
all fronts. After yesterday’s inspection by the Mine Inspection and
Salvation Department, only some sectors are allowed to work, since the
ACR Company had not fulfilled all conditions for the miners’ safety at
work.

The director of the Bulqize Mine, Medat Zogu, refused to answer about the conditions, while the director of the mine inspection, Refik Spahiu, showed the safety problems in the mine.

The inspectors reminded to the Mine Director the order issued by the Ministry of Economy for not recognizing the sub-contractors in the Area D. That area is closed as very dangerous, and none of the workers should be present there.

While the order has not been fully implemented on terrain, due to the long strike, the other companies that exploited the time that ACR was absent are still extracting chrome from this area.
