ACR proposes memorandum

ACR leaders announced a memorandum of understanding reached between them and a group of mineworkers representatives.

The document says that this Company is ready to increase the wages with 20%, to make transparent the investment fund and to improve safety and working conditions.

The memorandum says that all workers who sign this memorandum should leave the strike and not undertake any violent action against ACR representatives.

But while the company seeks a solution with this agreement, the syndication leaders have rejected the offer made one day ago and declared today that the ACR offer is untrue.

During an interview for Top Channel, the ACR administrator declared that the company was ready to fulfill the mineworkers’ request, but on the other hand they accused the syndication leaders of having a hidden agenda.

After this interview, the leader of the hunger strike, Baki Bajraktari expressed the miners readiness for signing an agreement and guaranteed the safety of ACR representatives when visiting Bulqize.

While waiting for the list with the names of the miners who would participate in the negotiations, the situation escalated in a protest in the town of Bulqize.

Dozens of mineworkers and their relatives blocked the main road.

The protest was followed by the police forces that were present.

The protesters stayed in the middle of the road, blocking the vehicle movement.

More than a roadblock, this protest was a sign that the strike was going to last for a long time.

Meanwhile, it seems that between the syndication leaders and the concessionary company there is no more communication.

Both parties have persistently set a great number of conditions before starting the dialogue, whi h increases tensions even more.

ACR Company has filed a criminal suit against some miners and has attacked the syndication leaders, asking them to not be part of the negotiations. While the syndication leaders are asking the company to fire their administrator before starting the negotiations.
