The opposition MP, Saimir Tahiri, sent a letter to the Minister of
Economy, Trade and Energy (Edmond Haxhinasto) on behalf of the Socialist
Parliamentary Group, asking information if the 1.639.163 EUR fine has
been paid by the ACR.

Tahiri reminded Haxhinasto that three years ago, Minister Ruli signed an agreement with the ACR Company for postponing the deadline of this fine.

While on 08 July 2009, ACR asked Minister Ruli to postpone the fine, which was formalized in the agreement signed one day after through Minister Ruli and the ACR Company.

MP Tahiri formulated four questions that expect an answer from the Ministry of Mr. Haxhinasto, if this fine has been paid by ACR and if not, which are the reasons? Have the investment obligations been fulfilled for ACR, regarding the conditions and deadlines foreseen by the concessionary agreements and what is the total of investments realized by the concessionary agreement, and what is the total of investments that have been realized up to date, based on the agreement?

The SP reminded the tragic events that have taken place in this mine and the lost lives of the miners. Tahiri reiterated that the mining assets are being used without criteria. Unlawfulness and mafia bands have occupied Bulqize and the mining area, all under the state’s nose and that are implicated in criminal activities.
