Health experts at the scientific forum focusing on tackling the pandemic caused by Covid 19, recommended today that more tests be performed, as well as other measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Increase testing activities not only for those who show clinical signs but also for asymptomatic ones, tracking contacts because doing so will curb the virus.

“The pandemic is serious and can cause a total of 15 thousand deaths in Albania by the end of the cycle. So I want to say that other measures must be taken to save lives. We have to choose whether to leave schools open and close bars, or whether we choose the economy instead and close schools.”

Meanwhile the exaggerated use of medications in the first days of the onset of symptoms was identified as a shortcoming by the analysis of researchers.

“About 90% of cases can pass without medication at all, zero medication. Care should be taken not to perscribe antibiotics and cortisone at the onset of symptoms. Even vitamins are not curative but a supportive therapy to boost immunity,” they added.
