From now on, the patient will sign in his medical file for all the medicines bought during the hospital treatment.
The director of the Tirana University Hospital Center, Saimir Ivziku, explains that the control of the hospital medications will be made by synchronizing with the pharmacies through computer software.
“We will release an order for fulfilling the medical file. The central and secondary pharmacies will be connected through an online system, and we will have full information about what will come in and out the pharmacy. With the service that is based on the medical file we avoid any type of abuse with the medications”, Ivziku declared.
Recently, Ivziku has released from their duties 86 Chief Nurses and 11 Chief Lab Technicians.
For the first time, the new holders of these titles will be elected by allowing those who had been exerting these duties to rerun for another election.
“It will be an all inclusive process, which means that all those who have been released from these duties are welcomed to run again for the new elections”, Ivziku declared.
According to the UHC director, this initiative is part of the reform that should follow the replacement of the Heads of Pavilions, and has no connection with the incident of the doctors who were caught stealing medicaments from the oncological hospital.
After the event in question, the Order of Pharmacists expressed their concern for the lack of professionalism pharmacies of the hospital service.
Until the next elections, the Chiefs of Pavilions will pass their orders through a Chief Nurse.
