The Kastriot and Fushe Alie villages of Peshkopia have been blocked by
1.5 meters of snow. The residents are isolated, while their biggest
problems are the health emergencies.
The Fushe Alie residents sought help for a pregnant woman with health issues. The road to her house was blocked, and an excavator was used to open it. The residents have been obliged to transport the young pregnant woman in the excavator bucket.
The 12 km long road lasted 8 hours, until the woman was sent to the police vehicles that drove her to the regional hospital, where she is being treated.
The health emergencies are the main concern of the residents, who are often obliged to fight with the snow that has reached record levels and makes them unable to reach areas with available medical help.
