After media outlets in Albania commented about a news report of the German outlet ZDF, which quoted the Albanian Deputy Minister about the possibility of building refugee camps in Albania, the Ministry of Interior reacted and rejected this possibility.
“Building refugee camps in Albania is not a matter for discussion. No one has asked and no one has offered something like this”, says the declaration of the Interior Ministry.
According to the Ministry, the Deputy Minister Hodaj has answered hypothetically to the question: “What would Albania do in the conditions of an emergency?”
He said that Albania has reacted during the Kosovo war, and that it has the capacity of confronting these emergencies.
The Ministry of Interior underlined that Hodaj’s answer is about a hypothetical situation of emergency, not about any discussion if there should be such a camp in Albania.
