A glance on political transition

The poet and writer Daut Gumeni has promoted his new book “Transition or
Inheritance”, a personal testimony of the delicate Albanian democracy
in the 20 years of post communism.

The author expresses his pessimist notes for what he called a useless run of Albania, due to the failed and mostly personal policies.

“The sickest politicians, all over the world, have said to their country ‘we are lucky to have you’. Only the previous politicians used to say ‘Albania, you’re lucky of having us’. These politicians have been inherited”, Gumeni declared.

In this ceremony was present the opposition leader, Edi Rama, who considers the author a man of great sacrifices in the war against communism, mentioning the time he passed in the Burrel prison, after the which he fought another war, that of a transition that isn’t over even today.

“Although I meet Dauti frequently, I consider him one of the leaders of the Albanian moral opposition. It is one of the rare examples of those who consider themselves intellectuals who do not blush when they see themselves in the mirror”, Rama declared.
