Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Council of People with Disabilities supports the Ombudsman’s
initiative for appointing as second person in charge someone from this
community.
Sinan Tafaj says that this initiative has social values and increases chances for disabled people.
“This initiative increases the chances for this category, since it is the first time that the individuals will have a representative who can report at the Parliament. We greet the Ombudsman for the initiative and we support him”, Tafaj declared.
The person that will be appointed at the Ombudsman must fulfil the criteria as anybody else. He must be a law graduate and he should be experienced in the human rights area.
According to Tafaj, the community has people who fulfil the criteria, besides the experience, since this category has never had the chance to work in the state administration.
“There are many people, such as blind lawyers, but they have never had the chance to work in the public administration”, Tafaj declared.
The candidacy should be submitted within January 8th at the Ombudsman. The best candidacy will be approved by the MPs.
