The Tirana Urban Inspectorate will start a new plan this Thursday for demolishing all illegal buildings across the capital.

The Director of the Urban Construction Inspectorate, Dallendyshe Bici, said that this plan aims demolishing 800 other buildings in the Albanian capital, where 1021 have been demolished so far.

“We have demolished 1021 buildings so far. 800 others are on the list at the Elbasan Street, Brraka, Train Station, Don Bosko and Lapraka”, Bici declared.

But this is not the last operation for freeing public spaces from illegal buildings. Bici says that inspectors are verifying other objects. The Inspectorate asks owners of buildings to remove the inert materials and replace them with green spaces.

“We have used all legal instruments, even fines for those who do not clean the remains. We have had the citizens’ understanding in many areas”, Bici declared.

The operation was held in the entire territory. Bici says that they will tolerate no one who has occupied public spaces illegally.
