Toys are the most desired objects for children, and parents often submit to their child’s desires.

But 80% of the parents are not careful in buying or choosing toys. All they want is to make their children or grandchildren happy. But recent analysis of some toys have shown that toys in shops have more dangerous substances than the ones bought in markets, although packed and with CE sign upon.

The Central Technical Inspectorate advises parents to watch the packaging and see for instructions in Albanian.

“One recent test resulted that toys bought in shops are more dangerous than the ones bought in the open market. The shop toys had a dangerous substance called PVC, and also other dangerous elements, such as chlorine. Some toys bought in a shop in the center of Tirana had dangerous substances”, declared Evis Qaja, from the LGZHI (Women Movement for Integral Development.

Plastic toys and different ornaments for trees have resulted with dangerous substances that cause cancer, neurological problems, damages of the immunity system, respiration, live, kidney problems and even birth defects.

No parent can imagine that a toy can bring so many health problems, hence the Central Technical Inspectorate asks the parents to watch the package if everything is translated in Albanian.
