The Albanian President, the Parliament Speaker, the Prime Minister and
citizens honored the martyrs of World War II at the “Mother Albania”
memorial, to commemorate the lives that were given for freedom.
Although the opposition doesn’t recognize November 29th as the liberation day, the Heads of Institutions were present in this ceremony, while the Mayor of Tirana delegated the representation to the Vice Mayor, Nevila Xhindi.
The Military Parade opened by the General Commander of the Armed Forces, President Bujar Nishani, performed a series of demonstrations.
The Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, underlined the fact that Albania was the only country in Southeastern Europe that was liberated without any help.
Kodheli described this as a bright page in the Albanian history, written by the blood of dozens of young men and women who survived from this barbarian war.
Minister Kodheli invited all the citizens to cooperate for the integration of Albania without any differences of ideas and religions.
