The Ministry of Health provided details on the 69 new cases confirmed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the country.
During the last 24 hours, 319 tests were performed of which 69 positive cases were confirmed, mainly in enterprises and business activities, contacts of previously confirmed positive cases, identified by the epidemiological investigation.
The geographical distribution of positive identifiers is as follows: 28 affected in Tirana, 16 in Shkodra, 8 positive cases in Kruja, 6 in Vlora, 5 in Durres, 2 in Elbasan, and 1 case in Kamza, Mallakastra, Puka and Lushnja.
Dr. Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health provided more details:
“Over the past week there has been an increase in the number of positively identified cases, there has been an increase in hospital admissions but the re is stability in terms of fatalities. This increase is related to the reduction of vigilance and non-implementation of the rules set by the health authorities.
“But it should be noted that this period cannot be compared with the peak of the epidemic during the isolation, as now we have a higher exposure time and more contacts during routine activities of the day, at a time when 97% of subjects are currently in activity.
“Therefore, extra care must be taken to enforce the rules.
