The debate over official languages in Macedonia has entered a new phase. After general discussions in commissions, now political parties will file their amends.

The VMRO-DPMNE of former PM Nikolla Gruevski will use this possibility to amend laws in areas where they claim that the Macedonian language is at risk.

LSDM has also reacted and said that they will present their dilemmas about fines that might damage the unitary character of Macedonia.

The Besa Movement seems more aggressive, which will demand the Albanian language to become official.

The biggest Albanian party in Macedonia, the Democratic Union for Integration, admits that the law doesn’t make Albanian equal with the Macedonian one because they don’t have the right number of votes to the Democratic Unionnal amends.
