Selling in a time of crisis requires courage, and the Albanian
government shows of having it. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy
is working for putting in sale hundreds of state properties.
“We plan to sell 440 assets, with a value that mounts up to 5.6 billion ALL, which have been sent to the Ministry of Finances for continuing the selling procedure. A number that is twice bigger than that of 2010”, Minister Naco declared.
The government aims to create sufficient revenues in a time of crisis, a challenge that requires courage, because the precedent cases show of consequent failures, with INSIG and Albpetrol.
The Minister guaranteed that the privatization will close within this year.
“The law for the privatization of 100% of the Albpetrol Company shares means that there is interes by the strategic investors for this company”, declared the Minister.
“ But we will also take the benefits from the mines, the taxes and everything else. Only in the lsat two years we have benefited 90 million USD. There is interest”, he added.
The procedures for the ARMO company are continuing with the procedures for evaluating the share package for the employees and the former owners of the land, so that the remaining state owned shares can be sold.
