Four Albanian Military Contingents with 186 persons in total have
deployed to Herat and Kandahar, Afghanistan. For the first time there
will be a medical contingent with 12 persons and 22 officers. The
foreign ambassadors in our country were present to give their positive
opinion about the Albanian military people.

“I believe that you have heard about the appeal from the US command, General Allen and everyone who operates in Afghanistan, that the Albanian Special Forces are well prepared and fulfill their missions as they should. It is understandable that the Contingent “Eagle” is holding dangerous missions and in very difficult environments. We know that the Albanian forces had their first lost life, and another one that was severely injured, and we know how real the war that we are conducting is”, declared the US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu.

“This is another prove of Albania’s commitment in the war against terrorism, which has involved the free and democratic countries led by the United Nations, and which stand to UN Card. This mission is a clear evidence of the big steps taken by the Albanian Armed Forces towards the NATO integration”, declared the Italian Ambassador, Massimo Gaiani.

The 11th contingent for Herat is composed of 107 military people, while that of the war mission has 45 Albanian personnel that will be sent to dangerous operations in Spin Boldak, Kandahar. The doctors will go to Kabul while the officers will go to different NATO commands in Afghanistan.
