Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Some cell phone companies are not satisfied with the National Authority of Post and Telecommunications decision to establish a floor price for the third and fourth 3G license.
“We are regrettably noting that the NAPT did not take our suggestions under consideration. We believe that there is no rational logic in establishing a fixed price of 4 million EUR for the third and fourth 3G license”, declared Julien Coustaury, the General Director of the Plus Company.
Coustaury says that the floor price and the frequent postponements have damaged the market competition.
“We believe that NAPT must promote competition rather than reinforcing the two poles that have always been pricey for the Albanian consumers in the last years. We believe that this is a mistake. We are demanding for flexibility, so that the market competition can increase”, Coustaury declared.
A few days earlier, NAPT decided to hold the tender for the next two 3G licenses this October, and that the minimal price for both of them will be 4 million EUR.
