A serious event took place in the Albanian capital Tirana, where a mother and her baby died one after the other, two days after being admitted to the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center.

Initially the baby was stillborn, while the 36-year-old mother, who was hospitalized in intensive care, also died later, according to reports.

Top Channel’s Alma Demiraj said that the cause of the woman’s death is “blood hemolysis”, a pathology that appeared during pregnancy that complicated the woman’s health condition, which led to the birth of the stillborn baby.

While in a police statement it was said that the young mother died as a result of cardio-respiratory arrest.

“On 05.10.2024, the citizen B. D., 36 years old, was presented to the maternity hospital after having health complications. From the medical examination, it was found that her 9-month-old fetus was dead.

“Then, on 07.10.2024, the woman lost her life, suspectedly as a result of cardio-respiratory arrest. In this case, there were no reports or claims from the family members,” the police stated.
