Police arrested the administrator of the “Diren” kindergarten and took
two teachers under custody, after video emerged of 3-year-old being
mistreated. During the investigations, they found out that the
kindergarten was not licensed.
The first store of a villa was used as kindergarten. The inspectors closed it and fined the owners with 1 million ALL.
The kindergarten has worked like this for 12 months, with 15 children and two teachers.
The Minister of Education admitted the responsibility of the institution she leads and of the inspectors, and asked parents to cooperate, take their children to institutions that show them the legal documentation before registration.
The Minister says that the main criteria before licensing a subject are the conditions of the premises and the graduated teachers.
However, the government does not require a psychologic evaluation report of the teachers. Often kindergartens have employees that don’t have the respective education.
25 unlicensed kindergartens were closed this year.
