A serious incident took place today in the village of Bletez, near Fier in the southwest of Albania, where the police officer Neritan Trifoni, was shot dead after a conflict with the citizen Azgan Mernica, 23 years old, resident of the village of Sulaj, who is now on the run.

Fier Police said that around 1:15 p.m., in the village of Baltëz, it is suspected that during a momentary conflict, citizen Azgan Mernica shot and killed citizen Cenalia, who was wearing a Police uniform, as he was going to start the day’s work.
The Police, the National Security Force, the “RENEA” Special Department were immediately dispatched to the scene, have surrounded the area and are continuing their work to apprehend the perpetrator.
