The new government meeting appointed the new Deputy Ministers, mainly in
those ministries that will have to of them each, one from the Socialist
Party and one from the allies. But there are also names that have never
been involved in politics. The Ministry of Finances was not on this
meeting’s agenda, probably left for a future one.

Most of the chosen people took this duty for the first time, while the Socialist Movement for Integration has confirmed some names that had kept the same title during their government mandate with the Democratic Party, such as Nora Malaj, Deputy Minister of Education, and Ylli Manjani, Deputy Minister of transportation.

The Socialist Party has appointed some of the candidates that did not win in the elections.

Eight of twenty three Deputy Ministers are female. For the first time, a disabled person has become Deputy Minister. She is Bardhylka Kospiri, now appointed as Deputy Minister of Social Welfare and Youth.

The Prefects throughout the country have been replaced, but Vlore and Lezha were not in the agenda for today.

The Council of Ministers also appointed the Head of the Public Procurement Commission, the former Deputy Head of the Central Election Commission, Denar Biba.

The government has also released from duty the General Director of Property Return and Compensation, Avenir Peka, but has not decided yet on his replacement.

On the day when the Prime Minister promised during a meeting with business representatives to pay the government’s debt to them, the Council of Ministers approved the proposition for auditing the debts that each ministry owes to domestic and foreign private businesses.

The government decision says that the draft-law addresses to the urgent situation to pay these obligations.

Meanwhile, it has been decided to start very soon a complete audit of the state financial situation, with the Albanian government announcing all international companies to express their interest on this process.

Another draft law approved in this meeting was that for cutting spending for the transportation service of public officials.
