21 people were arrested as part of a national operation against the electricity theft.
“When a business operator steals energy, the police will arrest those who are responsible for that robbery and also the Distribution System employee who should has cooperated for the theft rather than identifying it”, says the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri.
The Minister said that the operation will end the day when electricity abuses will have come to an end.
“It has been very successful, from day one. We will continue working in every corner of Albania to stop the theft of electricity and bring those who are responsible to justice, not only those who steal energy, but also those who have cooperated and helped them. These are the employees of the Distribution System”, Tahiri declared.
52 people have been arrested on the first day of the operation, while seven others are on the run.
