Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
Many of the witnesses that helped the Durres Band during their trial are expected to be tried for perjury.
The Tirana Prosecution is investigating 13 people who have been reported by the Prosecution of Serious Crimes for perjury.
Sources from the Prosecution confirmed that the two prosecutors of the Durres Band case, Anton Martini and Behar Dibra, have filed the report after the announcement of the arguments at the Court of Appeals against the defendants of the Durres Band.
According to the material that Top Channel has secured, among the filed documents there are copies of the decision for sending the case to trial in 2005, copies of the witness declaration and copies of the decisions issued by the First Degree and Appeal Court of Serious Crimes.
The Prosecutors claim that the witnesses have changed the physical description of the authors and have lied to the court by confirming that the suspects had been dining with them on the day of the crime. This is the first time that the Prosecution reacts by sending to court an entire group for perjury.
