The 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence is celebrated in Tirana with a military parade of the Armed Forces.

The first speech was held by the Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, who reminded that Kosovo is an independent and sovereign country; a country that has its own modern Security Forces and that is ready to preserve peace in any place of the world, and each of us should be proud for being a NATO member.

Then Prime Minister Berisha held a speech in which he praised the Albanian figures in these 100 years of state.

“In this year we honoured the people who lost their lives and brought freedom and independence in Albania and Kosovo. Glory to the martyrs of the Albanian nation”, Berisha declared.

In a speech of high patriotism tones, the Head of the Albanian government valued the contribution of all men and women who raised our flag.

The Albanian armed forces are parading in front of the leaders of the Albanian state, the Kosovo state, foreign diplomats, friends from other countries throughout the world. The first group was that of the war veterans followed by dozens others of different disciplines.

The parade lasted 90 minutes and was accompanied by the cheers of thousands of citizens.
