10 years have passed since the well known writer, journalist and
publicist Teodor Keko passed away and left behind a precious creative
work, many friends, relatives and admirers who filled the National
Theater hall in a commemorative ceremony.
Xhuli Keko, Teodor’s wife, said that every time that she returns to Albania she has the feeling that she will find him here, and that it is harder for her to cope with his absence in Albania than in Netherlands.
Some of Teodor’s friends held commemorative speeches about the friend with whom they shared some of the most beautiful moments of their lives.
Two new editions were promoted in the ceremony. One of the books “Si Breshka Nw Shpinw Mbaj Njw Varr” is dedicated to the last 365 days of Teodor Keko. It contains some of his creations left unifinished, collected by Arben Shkodra with the hekp of Keko’s brother. It also contains press releases and memories of his friends in that last year of his life.
The other book “In Memoriam” is an unauthorized biography of Keko, published by UET Press. The evening ended with the display of a documentary produced by Digitalb and created by journalist Beti Njuma.
The documentary brings to the public Keko’s side as a common human, surrounded by his friends; a portrait of the writer from the eyes of his close ones.
Ilir Keko, Teodor’s brother says that he feels honored that his brother has so many friends. “I am excited and I thank Beti Njuma for the wonderful work, although she had not known him personally”, he declared.
A special ceremony was held at the Presidency, where Keko was honored with the title “Great Master” by President Bujar Nishani.
