10 thousand doses of Sputnik vaccine, a gift from the United Arab Emirates, have arrived today in Albania.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister for Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj, present at Rinas Airport, praised the assistance of the United Arab Emirates, while they said that more doses of vaccines are expected to come from the ongoing negotiations.
“10,000 doses of the Sputnik vaccine, a donation from the United Arab Emirates, have already arrived and we will extend the vaccination even further. We will continue to provide even more vaccines, so that as soon as possible we start mass vaccination of the population, to be easier for tourism,” said Manastirliu, adding that the Immunization Committee has given a guarantee for use of vaccines.
While Minister Ahmetaj said: “On behalf of the Albanian government we thank the government of the Emirates and the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammed Bin Zayed. “They found us with the earthquake, they are also finding us with the Pandemic.”
