EU Ambassador: Albania at end of the beginning’ of EU accession talks, not the beginning of the end

“Albania is at the end of the beginning, not the beginning of the end of its EU accession process.” This is the declaration of the EU Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca.
Speaking for Euronews, Soreca referred to Winston Churchill when he was asked about the phase in which Albania is right now with the EU accession ambition.
“91% of the population in the Balkan country is in favor of accession, but France and the Netherlands may be blocking the accession talks. The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, expressed his disappointment for the situation, and gave an interview for Euronews”.
“We have to face it that more and more the decision-making of the Council is not based on what we do, on what countries like us do but on the internal situation or internal political dynamics in different member states.”
