At a donors’ conference for the Albanian November earthquake, in Brussels, European Commission President Ursula von de Leyen said the EU would provide 100m euros in aid grants for Albania, not including the 15m provided earlier by the EC.
Ursula von de Leyen stated: “We have heard touching stories of this tragedy, stories of pain and also of healing.
This participation proves that we are on your side. Solidarity saved lives in this Albanian tragedy. Albania’s needs are great and urgent, and we are here today to witness and accept our commitments to the Albanian people. Together we must make Albania stronger.”
