A few days before the EU decides whether they will open the EU accession negotiations with Albania, the Albanian Justice Minister, Etilda Gjonaj, met with the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić.
During this meeting, Gjonaj underlined the significance of the CoE support for Albania, by keeping into consideration the reforms undertaken so far for the rule of law.
The Minister said that Albania is at a very important moment as regards the EU integration phase, as she listed the achievements with the implementation of the judiciary reform.
Gjonaj updated the CoE General Secretary with the maximal efforts made by Albania for fulfilling the recommendations.
The Secretary-General appreciated the fact that the cooperation will continue while praising the reforms made so far by Albania.
