The need for blood in hospitals is specially felt during summer, due to high level of car accidents.
Authorities ask citizens to donate as much blood as possible for helping everyone in need. Currently there are 6.8 donators in every 1000 residents, while the national need is at least 20 donators for 1000 residents.
The Health Ministry ordered all health institutions in the country to plan blood donors through a system that helps fulfilling the need.
Up to now there have been 5000 volunteering donators, while the list of paid donators remains unchanged. The health minister honored with a certificate some of the regular blood donors.
