Albania has the highest number of betting shops per capita, according to statistics.
The National Center of Business says there is 1 betting shop for every 730 residents. In England it was 1 per 6500, in Italy 1 per 4500.
Albania has a higher number even when compared to other countries of the region. Bosnia comes closer to Albania, and yet there is 1 per 1750.
The easy legal procedures are one of the reasons why Albania has so many. The Parliament approved in 2015 a law that limits the number of betting shops, keeping them away from schools and religious objects.
