Erdogan: “I wish Edi Rama good luck with his projects”

In an exclusive interview for Top Channel’s Sokol Balla, Turkish
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, values Albania’s religious harmony as a
model for the world.

“Albania is a very unique country, housing very different groups, following different religions and cultures, and, in my point of view, Albania has a different respectfulness with the Muslim population and with the Christian population. There is a very rich co-existence. This richness, I hope and pray, shall be sustained in the future by Albania. And there are those who are spending efforts to separate and divide Albania. I hope and pray they will hit a wall”, Erdogan said.

Erdogan has built great relationships with Albanian Prime Ministers, but it seems that with Edi Rama it goes beyond that. He doesn’t hesitate to congratulate him during while on an electoral campaign.

“Mr.Prime Minister, and my dear friend Edi, right now, I would like to wish him the best of luck in his endeavors. The recently elected President, I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors as well. I personally attach great significance to the solidarity between the Prime Minister and the President. The forthcoming elections in Albania will mark the beginning of a new era. I believe that the people of Albania will strengthen their own future”, Erdogan said.

In this interview for Sokol Balla, the Turkish President mentions the conflict between the highest institutions, which may damage the country’s unity.

He says that the from the economic point of view, Turkish investments in Albania have reached very serious levels, at 3 billion EUR.

“I don’t know how many investments have arrived from the EU, but ours will not stop. We have a wide range of investments in Albania. A few days ago, a group of businessmen talked to me about the perspective of investments in Albania after the elections”, Erdogan said.

He also mentioned the risk of organizations in Albania that have support from Fetullah Gulen. “They have turned into a danger for Turkey and I want to be very clear for this. Albania is a country with a small population, and there they can be a greater danger”, Erdogan said.
