Interior Minister Xhafaj defends Tahiri: Prosecutors are being used politically

The Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, declared that the Prosecution is being used politically.
He said that from the legal point of view, what is happening with Tahiri is a very dangerous precedent for the Albanian judiciary and Parliament.
When asked if there is any official being investigated for “Tahiri”, Xhafaj said that this was initiated by the Italian Judiciary and it being conducted by them. “Others only want to abuse with it”, Xhafaj said.
“Individual prosecutors are using themselves in favor of a hot political situation. If the prosecution has more evidence than what we have seen so far, that we will wait for them”, Xhafaj said.
