The Prosecution of Serious Crimes has filed to charged against former
Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri: collaborating for trafficking
narcotics with a structured criminal group, and high-official passive
corruption.

The Criminal Code foresees 10 to 20 years of prison for the first charge, 4 to 12 for the second.

The Prosecution suspects that Tahiri has been aware of the criminal activity of Moisi Habilaj and of all other members of this gang, offering them impunity for their crimes.

Based on the Italian investigations, the Prosecution suspects that the Interior Minister has received direct financial profits.

The Prosecution has involved in the case the Audi vehicle which Tahiri had sold to Habilaj in 2013. They say the Interior Minister has used it even after selling it.
