Bulgaria, which takes the EU presidency this January, wants a cleaner
accession path for Western Balkan, hoping that this will prevent past
having instabilities similar to those of the past.

Sofia says that the biggest market of the globe should offer clear instructions to especially Kosovo and Serbia, about what to do so that they can join their ranks.

“We cannot change Europe’s agenda for six months, but we need to bring to every aspiring country a clear action plan, based on the achievements of each country, and their progress with resolving problems. Otherwise, the divisions in the region may deepen even further”, officials say.

“EU is not in the conditions to think about enlarging its borders right now, and the European public doesn’t want it either”, said for Bloomberg Vessela Cherneva, from the European Council for Foreign Affairs.

According to her, Bulgaria will have to work hard to convince Skeptic countries which include Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and France, to sit and listen to the problems of Western Balkan.
