The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, asked for the arrest of the
former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, warning to publish the facts
that prove his ties with Moisi Habilaj, who was arrested in Italy for
drug traffic.
“The question that every Albanian has today, is why Edi Rama is not arresting Saimir Tahiri, and to extradite him to Italy, to be tried as one of the main captains of the drug traffic for the past four years? I don’t expect any response from Rama, because he has defended Tahiri these four years and he knows why. He has directly benefited from the drug traffic through Habilaj and other gangs of organized crime. Edi Rama made this agreement in full conscience, because the drug money and the muscle of criminal gangs were used by Rama and Tahiri during the elections of 2015, and especially in the elections of 2017”, Basha said.
The opposition leader added that Albanians have two ways today: endure the reality that is being imposed to them, or rise up for the legal right to stop being ruled by gangs and politicians who cooperate with them.
