The construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline is about to be
completed. The company has announced that they have shipped all pipes in
Albania, Italy and Greece.

The last transportation was done in Thessaloniki, completing this way one of the most important cycles of the pipeline.

55.000 segments of steel pipes have been transported so far, with a total weight of 580.000 tons, as 71 Eiffel towers.

The first shipping was done on April 2016, Durres. The pipeline will be installed during the next year, while pump stations are being built in parallel.

The first gas quantity will be released from Azerbaijan towards Turkey and Georgia in 2018. In the European market, gas will arrive in 2020.

TAP underlines that besides Western Europe, this gas pipeline opens new perspectives for supplying natural gas to Balkan countries, supporting this way the building of another Adriatic-Ionnian pipeline that starts in Albania and ends in Croatia.

This project will accelerate the establishing of the gas transmission in our country and a good part of the industry could benefit from this cheaper source of energy.
