Basha: “VAT increases prices, puts small businesses into crisis”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that he will start a
tour of meetings with small businesses, to discuss their inclusion in
the VAT system.

Basha reiterated the opposition’s stance, that including the small business to the VAT scheme remains a crazy action.

“There will be a crisis for the small business. They will go bankrupt and prices will go 20% to 80% higher. Small businesses will pay accountants for the VAT”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader said this movement doesn’t make the budget profit, since the increased revenues will be zero.

“The government will not benefit from this, because they will have to increase the tax administration and face a volume of work five times higher than what the administration is having today. Al of this to collect just less than 2% of the VAT, which makes it not worthy”, the DP leader declared.

The Democratic Party say that they have another solution, which they have published in their campaign. They will institutionalize it now by making propositions in Parliament.

“We have a solution and we will present it in Parliament. Our solution is to increase the limit of small business to 12 million ALL, so that they will have no motivation to not print receipts”, Basha declared.
