After Angela Merkel won elections for her fourth term, dozens of personalities gathered at the Tirana Embassy.
The German Ambassador to Tirana said although the political scene in Germany is now different, after the Social Democrats refused a bigger coalition. However, the German approach to Balkan and Albania will remain the same.
“I don’t expect the German and EU policy towards Albania to change, even after the next coalition. All political forces in Germany agree for the Western Balkan to join EU, together with Albania”, said the German Ambassador, Susanne Schütz.
When asked about the increased influence of AFD, possibly even in the German foreign Policy, she said that despite the growth of this anti-immigration political force, it will not happen.
“AFD will be represented at the German Parliament, but it will not influence the policies of the federal government as regards Western Balkan and Albania”, said the German Ambassador to Tirana.
