Kumbaro in Voskopoja: “We saved churches from ruin”

The project for the rehabilitation of Voskopja has improved the local
infrastructure but also restored four churches of the village.
The Saint Nicolas and Saint Mary churches are fully restored, near the tourist village, while work is undergoing at the Saint Ilia and Saint Prodhom churches.
The Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, watched the work progress and said that this intervention is part of the government program for rural revival.
“With a intervention of 12 million ALL, we have repaired these churches. They were all risking to be crumbled. Korca is one of the best destinations for cultural tourism, with its focus in Voskopoja”, Kumbaro declared.
The Mayor of Korca, Sotiraq Filo, considered this as one of the major investments for preserving values and developing tourism.
“It is a project that will improve the life quality of the Voskopoja residents and tourism as well”, Filo said.
The investment has a value of 365 million ALL, and it includes investments in the village’s road infrastructure.
