DP and SMI allied against waste import

The Socialist Party has an official stance to withdraw from the Waste
Law, which was approved more than one year ago, but was not enter in
effect because it was challenged by the President.

There has been no answer yet to the presidential decree, but Eduard Shalsi, who initiated the procedures for allowing waste import, didn’t give any detail about when they should withdraw.

”We have decided to withdraw some propositions. I don’t know how it will be done from the formal point of view”, Shalsi declared as Chairman of the Commission for Productive Activities.

The Democratic Party said that the only way to not allow the law enter in effect, would be rejecting it by vote in Parliament.

The SMI reminded the Speaker that they have to respect the procedure, and that the government cannot withdraw a law that is no longer a draft law.

The DP filed a request for a referendum one year ago, which now has been accepted by the SMi as well.
