Albania does not risk having the visa regime back, according to the
Rapporteur for Albania at the European Parliament, Knut Fleckenstein.
In an exclusive interview on Top Channel’s “Top Story”, hosted by Sokol Balla, the German European MP declared that there is an issue with the asylum seekers, but there are other solutions which exclude the visa regime.
Sokol Balla: It seems that several European countries have another concern about Albania. Can Albania risk the visa regime back?
Knut Fleckenstein: No. If we take a closer look, any government may have any minister with any idea, but no, there is no discussion for bringing back the visa regime.
Sokol Balla: So, we don’t risk having the visa back by Netherlands, due to the problems we have had with them, or by the new agreement we have with France?
Knut Fleckenstein: I think that no. This government has treated the existing problems. There has been cooperation between police agencies. There is a problem with the asylum requests with France, but there is also a solution. I don’t think there is any risk. You never know what happens in the future, but I don’t think it will be the case with Albania.
