Basha: “Three conditions for judiciary reform. Rama, core of the problem”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that the opposition’s
biggest force has already started its efforts for reforming the
political system.

Basha declared that politics is the source of all evil in the country, that’s why the opposition has started this battle which will be not only political, but also civil.

“Albania deserves a fight without compromise against crime and corruption. The first in this direction is the judiciary reform, which will end the destruction of elections in Albania”, Basha declared.

He underlined that the government will never serve to the citizens, as long as it comes from the votes of citizens. In these conditions, the judiciary reform is necessary and for this the DP has three conditions.

“Electronic voting and ballot count; decreasing the role of party leaders in the process; giving more power to citizens. This is a process that belongs not only to political parties, but also to citizens. That’s why we need to engage everyone for their contribution”, Basha said.

When asked about the vote of immigrants, Basha declared it is a matter raised by the DP first, and they will not allow it to turn into a façade from the government.

“The judiciary reform will allow Albanians to vote from where they live”, Basha said, adding that the essence of the problem in this reform is Prime Minister Rama himself, who, according to Basha, broke the agreement with the opposition.

“Edi Rama killed that agreement. We will wait and see for their stance, but so far we have seen how he has sided with those who deny the citizens’ will by engaging with dirty money. This is why we don’t see him as an ally, but as the problem itself. Without changing politics there will be no real change in Albania”, Basha added.
