EU Commissioner Hahn visits Belgrade, will also discuss Kosovo

The Commissioner for Good Neighboring Policies and Enlargement
Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, will attend a visit in Serbia to discuss
resolving the Kosovo matter, situation in Western Balkan and Serbia’s
progress with the EU.
Serbian newspaper “Danas” reports that Hahn will meet high-level officials, including President Alexandar Vucic.
Unofficial information suggests that Hahn may hold a speech in Serbia, focusing the strategic partnership between Belgrade and the EU.
“Danas” writes that EU is happy with the ending of the month-long political crisis in Kosovo, and has also welcomed the fact that Serbian representatives in Kosovo are part of Haradinaj’s government.
The presence of the high-level EU official is interpreted by the public opinion as an encouragement signal from Brussels before the new dialogue phase with Serbia, which will start this Autumn, when the European Commission publishes the progress report of aspiring countries.
